This album comprises five songs written by jazz musician and trumpeter Toby Brazier for his sextet based in Leeds, in the UK. The aim of this album was to express the feelings and images of the seemingly chaotic and volatile world around us whilst containing elements of hope, peace and a different way of thinking about the earth and our place on it. All the songs reflect different parts, events and feelings of Toby’s life up until now; especially with his song ‘Ballad for Dad’, which was written for his late father, Ian Brazier. It was recorded on the 28th February 2020, just before lockdown and the Coronavirus pandemic changed the world.
